Job Description

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator leads the implementation and management of the DP at our international school, ensuring alignment with IB standards while supporting students, staff, and stakeholders in Doha. This role combines pedagogical leadership, administrative oversight, and some teaching duties to foster academic excellence in a diverse, international environment.

Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership and Administration
Serve as the primary liaison with the IB organization, managing online platforms like IBIS, OCC, and ManageBac for curriculum, registrations, and compliance.

Oversee DP curriculum development, internal reviews, strategic planning, and budget management, including resource selection and evaluation.

Coordinate student placements, monitor academic performance, and facilitate smooth transitions from MYP to DP.

Staff Development and Collaboration
Provide professional development for DP teachers, including workshops, inductions, and collaborative planning to align with IB instructional practices.

Chair regular DP team meetings, support TOK and CAS integration, and collaborate with PYP/MYP coordinators for programme continuum.

Offer guidance to new staff on assessment procedures and foster a collaborative environment promoting international-mindedness.

Examinations and Assessments
Organize and administer DP mock and formal exams, ensuring secure handling, adherence to IB guidelines, and a supportive exam environment.

Manage assessment calendars, student workloads, and results analysis to inform curriculum improvements.

Student and Stakeholder Support
Promote DP through presentations to parents, prospective students, and the school community; provide university counseling and transition support.

Communicate updates from IB to staff/parents, address concerns promptly, and maintain student records/portfolios.

Support Career-related Programme (CP) tasks if applicable, including registrations and partnerships.

Additional Duties
Contribute to school events, handbooks, newsletters, and promotional materials; attend leadership meetings as required.

Perform other tasks assigned by school leadership, such as alumni engagement or budget planning.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s in Education or related field preferred); full IB DP Coordinator certification or willingness to obtain.

Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience in IB DP, with proven leadership in international schools.

Experience in exam administration, curriculum design, and familiarity with IB online tools.

Skills and Attributes
Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficient in digital tools for programme management.

Strong leadership to inspire staff/students; commitment to holistic development and cultural sensitivity in Qatar’s diverse context.

Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and sensitive discussions with stakeholders.
